Elope First, Wedding Later: Christine + Andrew

Are you having trouble deciding on the scale of your celebration? Don’t worry, it is very much possible to get the best of both worlds. Today, we shine our spotlight on the lovely Christine and Andrew. Take a trip with us down to the Oregon Coast, where we share the details of their laid-back elopement, whilst simultaneously making plans for a larger wedding bash in 2023.

MEET THE COUPLE.

Christine and Andrew’s journey together began rather quickly, and the story is quite funny. As the two got to know each other, Christine was in awe about how perfect Andrew was, surely there was something she was missing? She mentioned that there was no way that this man, being as funny and charming as he is, is just walking about. Christine had to lock it down and fast, which meant bringing her dating life to a quick halt. Over dinner, Christine told Andrew “So there’s this other guy..” Andrew immediately began planning his exit, thinking he was about to get dumped. Turns out, Christine scared him for nothing and was actually fully committing to Andrew as her main muse! Andrew was stunned, but hey, he was not about to complain.

The two fell in love over local hikes, board games, and thoughtful momentos. They mention how they are able to compliment each other’s personalities and create a perfect balance. Marriage was always in their minds and came very naturally in the progression of the relationship. Andrew had been personally designing her engagement ring for over five months before he popped the question. Andrew proposed to Christine on a hike in Bellingham and the rest is history!

A TALE OF TWO CELEBRATIONS.

Christine has always been drawn to the idea of an intimate elopement. Keeping it sweet and simple can be a lifesaver on an intensely emotional day. When your day is built on relaxation and connection, it helps to cultivate a nurturing experience. As for Andrew, he always imagined being surrounded by all of his family and friends to commemorate their relationship. With a larger celebration you can share your love with your community and that is extremely important as well! Christine and Andrew reached out to us because they knew that Tapestry was a pro at doing both. With the decision to have two separate celebrations, they reached out to us for some guidance in the planning realm.

It is very normal for partners to have different ideas when it comes to a wedding or elopement, and sometimes it can be hard to navigate that road alone. It’s one of the most important days of your life! At Tapestry, we want your day to be as personal as possible and that means understanding both of your boundaries and expectations. That being said, we look forward to accommodating our couple’s needs. As a team, we work together to create a memorable and comfortable experience for both you and your partner to look back on for years to come. And that’s exactly what we did for Christine and Andrew!

THE ELOPEMENT.

From the outset, the main focus between these two events was continuity. It was vital that each celebration flowed into each other, seamlessly. For example, when choosing vendors we recommended those who were local to the area and could be flexible working on both a small and large scale event. “When choosing a 2022 elopement location, we selected options that shared beach and cliff commonalities with the venue they had booked for 2023, but that were locations that lent themselves to more intimate moments as opposed to a larger group. We curated the most amazing team of vendors. The photographer was a perfect artistic match for the couple, the florist was insanely creative, and the local picnic company worked closely with Tapestry as design partners to create a beautiful pop-up setting.

Christine and Andrew were set on the Oregon Coast, and we searched the area and found an amazing spot that had a variety of natural features to hold their ceremony. In the morning, Tapestry set out and began to set up the ceremony space. During this time, the couple hung out and got prepped for their day in the most adorable AirBnB. The photographer took some incredible docustyle photos of their morning.

As the day progressed, the couple had their first look at Arch Cape, followed by a beautiful picnic and a touching ceremony. They had one of their best friends officiate their wedding which was one their many personal touches of the day.  Also, we can’t forget the outstanding golden hour photos taken at Hug Point!

Overall, we had achieved the intimate, laid-back vibe that the couple had sought out. We couldn’t have been more happy to help their dreams come true and we are so excited to carry on our planning process for their wedding celebration in 2023.

Catch us in Fall 2023 to hear the finale of Christine + Andrew’s Celebration!

Shout Out Alert: We want to give the biggest thanks to Chas, the florist! Their ability to take in a couple’s vision is truly unbelievable. Chas has a way of creating the most unique, never seen before looks. She is an absolute FAN GIRL for her couples and brings energy everywhere she goes. She also gifted Christine a seed packet with the flowers from her bouquet, and we cannot get enough of her!
