Tapestry's Favorite Intimate Venues In + Around Seattle

As circumstances (read: COVID-19) have encouraged couples to create shorter guests lists, we thought we would showcase venues that perfectly house intimate celebrations. These venues are in and around the Seattle area, making commutes and journeys to your celebration easy. We love their potential for creativity, the warmth of the architecture, and their blend of indoor-outdoor space. Join us as we take you on a mini tour!

AROUND SEATTLE . . .

BELLA LUNA FARMS

We love the grape room at Bella Luna. If we were to make our own venue space, it would look like this. Between the greenery growing overhead on the trellis to the European-inspired stone half walls topped with ample windows, topped off with a singular long table running down the center, we can’t really ask for much more aesthetically speaking. This space features local chefs and farmstead artisans from nearby farms, seasonal flowers grown organically on the land, extensive gardens and some adorable farm animals, and a host of on-site, on-theme rentals. If an authentic connection to a farm-to-table experience is your jam, this is your venue.

WOODINVILLE LAVENDER

Located in Woodinville wine country, this venue is one of a kind with running rows of lavender and wide-open views contrasted against rich green trees and hillsides. This is one of our favorite summertime spaces to put up farm tables and string lights and spend a lazy sunset evening amongst expansive fields. The team at Woodinville Lavender focuses on intimate, high quality events with excellent service and attention to detail. Their space is located in the heart of a wine valley, so that means that there are lots of tasting rooms and restaurants to stop into in the days before or after your intimate wedding.

THE EMERALD FOREST

A cousin to Treehouse Point (one of our favorite two-person elopement getaways!), The Emerald Forest is built in the quiet, farmland suburbs of Redmond just a 10 minute walk into the forest. This outdoor theater has elevated bridges and huts that Rufio and The Lost Boys would envy, massive hammock nets and pillows for cuddle puddles galore, and five acres of mossy woodlands where your guests can camp out overnight after watching a movie on the big screen. The wood platform in the center of the space is a great, level area for a ceremony. A large, heated yurt is the perfect secluded area for a pre-ceremony yoga class or getting ready space. If you and up to 30 guests are looking for room for outdoor activities, you have found your ultimate forest playground.

IN SEATTLE . . .

CORSON BUILDING

Constructed in the early 1900s, this Seattle home-turned-restaurant and event space in the Georgetown neighborhood cultivates a dining experience unique to the PNW. A beautiful building tucked into a luscious garden with stone details, this venue is as intimate and beautiful as the menu is thoughtful. They build relationships with farmers, wine makers, importers, foragers, and artisans to curate the experiences in their space. If a worldly dining experience anchored in classic Pacific Northwest flavors calls your name, then this is the space you want to talk to.

ALMQUIST FAMILY WINERY

This family winery is located on the Fremont Cut just west of the bridge and boasts 10,000 square feet as an urban working winery minutes from downtown Seattle. Our favorite portion of the property — the atrium — is an all glass space that looks out a grassy park and the cut. Their barrel room has floor-to-ceiling casks. The courtyard between the two is the perfect open-air space to bring in entertainment or food trucks. Between the three spaces, there is a lot of room for movement and personality. Oh, and we can personally attest to the quality of the wine!

CANLIS

Canlis is a Seattle community and restaurant pillar overlooking Lake Union with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the Cascades. Are we speaking your love language yet? Canlis has three private rooms to choose from for your event, in addition to a pianist and one of the best wine lists in the world. If you’re looking for a timeless Seattle space and experience, Canlis is the one.

THE RUINS

Nestled in the Queen Anne neighborhood, this dining club and event venue has a personality of its own. The space transports you to a mix of historic Seattle and European style: vintage, baroque, and begging for Jay Gatsby to make an appearance already. You can book different combinations of spaces and rooms to build the perfect vibe for your celebration. Their catering and bartending services are in-house, which makes for a smooth and fluid entertainment experience. They also host Valtesse productions in the space and make available incredible lighting, music, and acrobatic entertainment through their partnership. If you’re looking to add an extra punch to your guest experience, The Ruins should be at the top of your tour list.

COURT IN THE SQUARE

If you like red brick, big windows, sky-high ceilings, and Juliet balconies a la a suburban NYC, then you have ARRIVED. This courtyard has the flair of a pop-up urban restaurant party married with an indoor-outdoor upscale setting. The catering team paired with this venue allows you to have your entire celebration in a single, interesting, rain-proof space. For a #treatyourself day in an exclusive downtown space unlike any other, Court In The Square is the move.

WESTWARD

A spot by the sea with unique views of the lake and the city, you can slow down your intimate gathering at Westward. This restaurant boasts a beach, massive deck, and firepit for the ultimate Seattle chill experience. The interior of the restaurant is an upscale hipster cafe, serving sustainable seafood and imaginative marine fare. Arrive by foot, vehicle, or boat or at the dock for a grand entry like no one else’s. We love Westward for deliberate intimacy and connection over good food and good views: the simple pleasures.

OLYMPIC ROOFTOP PAVILION

In the heart of Ballard on top of a boutique hotel, Olympic has a 1,370 square-foot event space with panoramic views of the city, mountains, and waterways. This upscale rooftop venue blends indoor and outdoor goodness, featuring vaulted ceilings, window walls, and an outdoor patio. If you want the ultimate rooftop experience with city views for your “I do’s” with the option to bar crawl in one of the best nightlife neighborhoods of Seattle, you have met your match.
