Real Couple Weekend Celebration: Becca + Patrick

Becca and Patrick’s wedding weekend in Leavenworth, WA was an event for all of their guests to remember. It was a snowy wonderland adventure featuring Nordic-inspired dinners, snowmobiles, igloos, and massages to warm it all up. Most importantly, the weekend was about bringing their communities together and showing them a snow-inspired version of Pacific Northwest adventure. Read on to learn about the festivities, the ceremonies, and the amazing details that made this weekend one for the books.

OUR FUN-LOVING COUPLE.

Becca and Patrick have a modern love story. They met on Bumble, both a little over online dating but curious about what else it might have left in store for them. They were both pleasantly surprised, and after a couple beers and a flirtatious game of darts in Edmonds, they knew that they wanted to keep seeing each other. Becca even said that she fell asleep with a smile on her face that night.

They fell in love over the next year due to their shared love for travel, ambitious professional goals, and ability to be silly with one another. Becca loves that Patrick, even with his high achieving demeanor, could let loose and be absolutely ridiculous with her. Patrick loves that Becca gets his sense of humor and is willing to open herself up to his family. Patrick has two children, which meant their journey to marriage and family included Becca becoming a step-mother — a role that she holds with grace and love.

For their wedding weekend adventure, they wanted to combine the adventure of an elopement with a luxury retreat for their closest friends and family. They wanted to push the envelope on what was expected from a marriage celebration and chose Tapestry Event Co. for our design aesthetic and logistical skills.

THE CELEBRATION WEEKEND ITINERARY.

Becca and Patrick created an incredible itinerary filled with snow adventures, amazing meals, and hot tubbing. The weekend started out on Thursday, with guests arriving in the evening for dinner where they were able to mingle and get to know one another before the whirlwind of events began. They hosted all the activities at Omnia Lodge, where the guests stayed and were able to socialize in their bubble safely, as the entire lodge was reserved for the wedding weekend. Upon their arrival, guests were also greeted with a gorgeous weekend itinerary designed by Stacey of Oh hey Face. It included everything the guests needed to know for the weekend with information on what might change if COVID became more unpredictable.

On Friday, the couple enthusiastically hosted a group snowmobile trip before their rehearsal dinner. Their friends got to explore the hills of Leavenworth in matching snowsuits and play in igloos with the kiddos. Post-snowmobile, they organized massages to work away the rough bumps of the mountains before an evening dinner inspired by Icelandic culture with all the guests.

MEET ME IN THE MOUNTAINS: THE CEREMONY.

Saturday morning, the day of Becca and Patrick’s marriage ceremony, the ladies woke up bright and early to get their hair and makeup done before portraits began around noon. They took their time getting pampered with Lucy of Hair by Lucy and the team from GLOW Beauty Lounge. Meanwhile, the men got all suited up at the Omnia Lodge. When both the bride and groom were ready, Patrick met Becca at the dock of Lazy Bear Lodge where the couple shared a first look and took gorgeous portraits in the snow.

While the couple basked in the anticipation of their ceremony, the vendor team arrived at the ceremony spot at the Far + Away Cabin to set up the hot beverage and cake station, the floral arch, and the ceremonial fire pit. Acknowledging the cold temperatures the guests would have to endure in a winter outdoor ceremony, Becca and Patrick wanted to provide luxury and warmth for everyone. This hot cocao and toddy setup was completed with mugs their friends and family could take home with them featuring their love logo: puffins.

At 3:00pm on Saturday, Becca’s parents walked her down a snowy aisle to the luscious arch (designed and assembled by Angelene of Villanelle Floral) where Patrick stood. The guests all stood in a half circle listening to the ceremony led by Niels and Caitlin, two family friends of the couple. They incorporated Patrick’s children into the ceremony in such a beautiful way. Becca wrote vows not only to Patrick, but also to his children, which she recited to them during the ceremony as they stood with their dad. This moment touched everyone as Becca promised to be a loving and supporting member of their family.

“I promise to love you with all of my heart

To by your ally

To learn from you

To listen to you

To protect you

And to be sure you eat your vegetables and green things

To help you be most fully in the world the person you wish to be

To treasure your individuality and independence

To share your dad with you and create my own independent relationship with both of you.  I know that my actions speak louder than my words.

I promise to always be there for you when you need someone- whether it be a coach, a mom, a friend, or a shoulder to cry on.”

— An excerpt from Becca’s vows to the kids.

After Becca and Patrick were pronounced married, they celebrated with champagne next to the bonfire and invited everyone to make s’mores and cut into the cake and take some more cute photos. When everyone’s toes got too cold, they returned to Omnia for a reception.

A FEAST TO REMEMBER.

While family and friends played and celebrated in the snow, the Tapestry team snuck up to Omnia Lodge to set up the table and assist Lovely Night Catering in preparing the meal for a six-course celebratory dinner. The bride and groom are huge foodies with cooking skills to boot, and they were blown away by the dinner experience.

This meal was a feat, a gastronomical fine dining experience inspired by the couple’s Nordic heritage. Lovely Night’s chefs Gelsey and James prepared an incredible meal of small and large plates with local ingredients to give their Nordic recipes a PNW twist. Throughout the dinner, guests organically celebrated the couple with toasts and well wishes to their future.

Becca and Patrick’s wedding weekend wrapped up with an early breakfast and send-off for the couple’s honeymoon adventures. We at Tapestry honor and appreciate the work that every vendor who participated put into this celebration weekend that took place in three different locations and included seven meals. In each moment, they brought the couple’s vision to life and inserted it with their own love and energy. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this day to life. And congratulations to the couple, Becca and Patrick!
