Celestial Styled Shoot at Within Sodo: Parvoneh + John

WithinSodo held a January open house event featuring thirteen vendors from all around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. A passion project for everyone involved, they came together to do a styled shoot with a couple to show off the versatility and beauty of the venue. The couple, Parvoneh and John, were a dream to work with as their respect and adoration for each other became the ultimate centerpiece to a fantastic styled shoot.

WELCOME TO WEDDING DREAMLAND.

When I walked into WithinSodo’s Parlor Room around 5:30pm, Kate’s face was glowing, aiming to burst when she saw me and smiled. I immediately made my way over to hug her in true Tapestry Event Co. spirit, but I clocked all the beautiful signs and the bartender preparing tasty looking cocktails along the way. I snagged her attention for about thirty seconds through potential clients and vendor friends wanting to check in. She was absolutely in her element. Luckily, this meant I was free to wander around, grab a bite, try a cocktail, and soak in the atmosphere of the fantastic space.

Earlier in the day, Parvoneh and John came by the space to pose for our photographer Taylor of TMinspired. The dress, one I actually tried on when I was shopping for wedding dresses, was a beautiful rhinestone gown by Willowby. This night, Parvoneh was the night sky with the fantastic dress glittery in the low, warm light of WithinSodo. The celestial hair accessories were all Etsy finds curated by Tapestry Event Co, the stars hearkening to the couple’s love of the outdoors. Seattle Beauty Boss worked on Parvoneh’s and John’s hair and makeup. A video was done by Nate from Ochoa Wedding Films. It’s dreamy quality captured Parvoneh and John’s whimsical relationship and turned the day into a fairy tale.

GET TO KNOW THE VENDORS.

The main entry space of WithinSodo housed the Tapestry booth, the bar, and the Hot Dame pepper sauce company. My Lovely Letters made beautiful signs on acrylic panes to welcome all the couples to the space. The blue and gold looked amazing in contrast to the pastel winter hues in the florals. The bar, which was done by the venue, was serving delicious mules. As I wandered deeper into the Gallery Room, the team had created a beautiful intimate ceremony space with a breathtaking floral installation by Brett James, completed with soft candlelight coming from its base. The florals were so organic, something one could forage from a field. I could imagine the road trip-loving couple at home among the grasses and blooms. I loved the sense of quiet and awe in that room. Without actually housing a wedding, the team had managed to make anyone who walked into the room feel as if they needed to honor the space and what could occur in it. Everyone talked in hushed tones as they passed through.

I kept walking, sipping happily and bopping along with the music DJ’d by Orion Entertainment, as one does when some of their favorite dance songs are playing in the background. The next room, the Mirror Room, housed gorgeous cakes and little treats from Alpenglow Baking Co. I am being honest when I say that, I watch a lot of baking TV shows and follow too many baking instagram accounts, and have not seen a black wedding cake quite like this one. It was beautiful and understated, perfect for the winter aesthetic of the evening.

The space opened up to the the Lounge and Ballroom, which are frequently used in conjunction for larger parties. For this open house, catering from Table 47 was set up in both the Lounge and Ballroom with a table that sat eight to show the design prowess and passion for tablescapes at Tapestry Event Co. The table setting and flowers were dreamlike, definitely transforming the warehouse-like space into a cozy and intimate setting. The rentals from Pederson’s Event Rentals framed the mood perfectly. I grabbed some bites of asparagus appetizers and chatted with the Boujee Booth staff, who were funny and very nice. Everyone there made me feel welcome and encouraged me to take photos or try more bites to eat. Though I didn’t end up posing for any photobooth photos, I did take Kate’s, the sales manager at WithinSodo, offer to tour the rest of the property. She chatted with me about the capacity and flexibility of each space, as well as taking me up to the rooftop deck. Though chilly on a January night, I could see it be the perfect place to have a party on summer evening. All of the rooms can be used in conjunction or separately, which is fantastic for planners because we can scale the rooms to what fits the needs of your party. Rooftop ceremony? Can do. Late night food trucks at the roll up doors during a DJ dance party? Easy peasey.

A BEAUTIFUL + SUCCESSFUL NIGHT.

WithinSodo traditionally partners with a local planner to host open houses on a quarterly basis as a way to set up a mini wedding for current and prospective clients to see what the space can do. When a couple decides to host their wedding there, their planning process is made super easy because the vendors are already familiar with the space and each other. Everyone knows what to expect. For an event planner like Kate, putting together this mini wedding is an intensive one and a half month process of design and coordination, but the beautiful photos she gets to feature from the styled shoot and the prospective clients she gets to meet at the open house makes it all worth it.

Thank you to all the vendors that participated and the people that came by to make this night happen. I was swept away by the possibility and creativity of this awesome dream team of vendors. Needless to say, WithinSodo is one of our favorite event spaces in Seattle to show our couples who crave a big home for their loved ones and an opportunity to creatively express themselves.
