A Mindful Joshua Tree Elopement: Ale + Cam

Ale and Cam’s Joshua Tree elopement was a mindfully planned and ceremonial celebration of their bond. THE START OF ALE + CAM.

Let’s take it back to the Stanford University Campus. The future soulmates attended their shared Japanese Pop Culture Seminar, where they just so happened to be assigned to the same group project. (Thank you, Professor.) However, Ale was quite aware of Cam’s presence before they had officially met, admitting she was crushing on Cam pretty hard. It wasn’t until a class trip to Japantown that sparks really started to fly between the two. On this special day, the stars aligned and left them to wander around the city alone. Cam mentions how he remembers feeling overwhelmingly happy to be spending time this time with Ale. He was hooked the moment she started talking.

All days must come to an end, but the two were not stopping there. Introducing, the movie buddies. The pair took moonlit walks through campus, looking for unused classrooms so they could share their favorite films together. Ale recalls the moment where things became real, “He mentioned how cold his hands had gotten on our walk and before I could consider how it would come across I reached my hands out and offered to warm his up in between mine. As I reached my hands out and said "here," my stomach had that sudden-drop feeling and I realized he might think I was being too bold and trying to hold his hand. It wasn't a bad thing, but it hadn't been my intention and I was surprised by how willingly and without realizing I'd reached out to him. Before I could hesitate or pull back Cam reached out and took my hand, and in the smoothest move, he turned his hand and laced his fingers between mine”
