Crafting Authenticity at Intimate Corson Building Wedding

In the heart of their journey, Allison, a dedicated family law attorney, and David, a corporate project manager, sought a wedding celebration reflecting their shared passions for authenticity, nature, and cherished connections. Collaborating with experienced Seattle wedding planner Kate of Tapestry Event Co., their vision came to life at The Corson Building, a setting echoing their desire for warmth, love, and genuine experiences.

OUR TAPESTRY COUPLE.

Allison and David wanted a wedding that echoed their values, embracing friends who enriched their lives over the past seven years, regardless of geographical distances. Their goals extended beyond mere coordination; they sought true friendship and a confidant to facilitate their dream day. Since they could see that our Seattle planning team cares so deeply about our clients, they knew we were the one for them.

The vibes between us fostered a beautiful working relationship. With a clear vision and meticulous budget in hand, Tapestry swiftly identified The Corson Building as the perfect match. Its inviting ambiance and culinary expertise provided an intimate space for their 35 cherished guests, embodying the couple's pursuit of meaningful connections.

A distinctive similarity between Allison and me, Kate, was our shared experience with high-functioning anxiety and being Enneagram Type 1 (hello all you Type 1’s out there who know where we’re coming from)—a trait that, rather than hinder, bonded us in understanding. Our shared language of self-awareness allowed for deep, empathetic conversations, shaping decisions with complete consideration and authenticity.

Quality relationships took precedence for Allison and David, translating into a self-financed event focused on quality experiences. Mindfully allocating funds to venue ambiance, exceptional catering and service, preserving memories through photography, and storytelling via stationery showcased their prioritization of meaningful elements over excess.

CORSON BUILDING WEDDING MAGIC.

Words cannot capture the magic of The Corson Building—the friendly staff, unparalleled cuisine, and the quietly intimate setting. From the old world romance of the brick pavers to the enchanting garden in the heart of the city, you can’t go wrong with a micro wedding here focused on experience. And did I mention food already?

As wedding planners, we strive to keep each couple’s unique budget in mind. We help move money into the right categories to achieve your dreams. Part of that was in finding the right venue to begin with. Which we did with The Corson Building. From there, it was about aligning budget with their values surrounding the event.

Because Allison and David self-financed the event, we were very thoughtful about where the money flowed. So we set our financial priorities as: venue (ambiance), catering + service (experience), photography (memories), and stationery (storytelling). We took a more minimalist approach to rentals, floral, and other decorations, taking an editorial eye to each of these design components and carefully coordinating the look.

A REVIEW TO REMEMBER.

Kate is, without a doubt, the best wedding planner to ever wedding plan. She handled my type-A, enneagram 1 self with ease and calmed my nerves every step of the way. She is personable, genuine, FUN and, most importantly, **excellent** at what she does. My husband and I came to her with a whole lot of ideas, hopes, and dreams, and she helped us mold them into the most special day. Kate consistently goes above and beyond for her clients by communicating clearly, being hella organized, and keeping us grounded and present. She's everything you could ask for in a planner and has mastered the art of underpromising and overdelivering. Our wedding wouldn't have been even a quarter of what it was without Kate, and we are eternally grateful to her and her team. I have notoriously high expectations for every aspect of my life, and the experience exceeded all of them.

THE WEDDING DAY.

On the day of the celebration, our couple indulged in a tranquil morning at the Lotte Hotel, surrounded by close friends as they prepared for the day ahead. Instead of opting for traditional bridal parties, Allison had different combinations of friends drop by to get ready, drink a celebratory glass of champagne, and accompany her to the venue.

The event itself radiated the couple's essence, with design and ambiance setting the tone. Live instruments curated a romantic atmosphere, elevating every moment against the unique backdrop of The Corson Building.

What is uniquely special about The Corson Building is their food, as mentioned before. For each couple, they meticulously work to craft a menu for their event. The food is focused on what they can try and source locally.

As you’ll see in the menu below, the whole experience was unique for a wedding dinner and highly curated to show off Seattle’s local culinary scene. Brought to life in a stunning way by Chloe Clarke Paper.

A QUICK REFLECTION.

We loved the opportunity to showcase an elevated and curated experience for Allison and David. Their values of good times and good people aligned so fully with who we are as Seattle wedding planners. In addition, that they came in with such a clear plan on what they wanted help with set our goals straight away. I’m sad to see the end to any wedding planning experience, but also excited to watch our couples thrive in their marriage.
