Hi, I’m Kate, the Creative Director and Officiant at Tapestry Event Co. I am so freaking thrilled that you found me and my team! We are proud Pacific Northwest residents with our base camp planted in Upper Left, USA.

Our passion? Guiding your mindful ceremony process and creating an epic kick-off to your marriage. 

Our style? Honest, creative, and intentional.

Our approach? Organized, inquisitive, and supportive.

We are all about mindful marriage and we believe that your ceremony is the perfect place to mark the milestone of your love for one another. You’ve spent so much time building your relationship, but chances are you’ve never put your story and your feelings to words quite in this way. We love helping couples connect, reflect, and externalize their relationship with us so that we can write a ceremony that is current and alive with the love you’ve cultivated. In the process we laugh a lot, dig deep, and replace prosaic ceremony traditions with deeply meaningful words and practices.

We want to hear your story and bring it to life. We want the experience of your ceremony to be a reflection of your values and your uniqueness. If you’re ready to make your marriage day a statement of your culture and values, then you’ve found the officiant for the job!

How do you want to launch your marriage? We offer packages to support different couples and their needs, whether you want to elope or host a full-blown wedding (or anything in between)!

 
 
 
 
 

OFFICIANT + REHEARSAL

This is our signature and most popular officiant service. We include all the services in our day-of officiant package plus leadership during your rehearsal the day prior. If you are looking for someone with experience and know-how to set the tone and guide your practice session before your big day, you can count on us!

DAY-OF OFFICIANT

Starting at $750

We consult with you to create a custom ceremony that captures what makes you unique: your story, your quirks, your talents, your ambitions, and the little rituals that say a lot about your love. We walk through an interactive editing process to refine the details, then show up all smiles to share with your loved ones.

OFFICIANT + MINDSET

Starting at $1,200

If you want to start your day off with a clear head and grounded energy, then this is the option for you. We create a custom yoga or meditation practice for your loved ones, then give big hugs before we get dressed and proceed to the ceremony. This package includes everything in our day-of package.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 
 

+ How long have you been in the officiant business?

Our Officiant and Creative Director has been officiating ceremonies since 2017. We have seen a variety of different ceremonies and here to nurture your vision as it welcomes this new chapter in your relationship.

+ How many couples do you take on in a year?

We take on between five and ten officiant couples per year. Because we focus on a good client fit, rather than for a certain kind of project, our annual schedule looks different year-to-year and keeps us on the move in the summer months. Please know that we do not take on back-to-back dates, nor do we take on more than two projects in a week; we like to keep our work-life-travel balance in a happy place and to be 100% present for each of our amazing couples.

+ Do you charge a travel fee?

We do, and here’s why: All of our couples have a unique location for their celebration. We love that our couples defy the one-size-fits-all archetype of weddings. So just like we customize your planning process, so too do we customize your travel fee to make sure it’s an exact fit for the adventure required. For estimate purposes, you can calculate about $2.00 per mile for travel from Seattle to any location in the Pacific Northwest. This fee covers gas, mileage, food, and accommodations when required. Out of state and international travel is calculated on a case-by-case basis.

+ Do you offer payment plans?

We sure do! Payment plans make the world go ’round. We typically split our total fee up into two installments. That said, we are open and flexible to other arrangements on a case-by-case basis.

+ What if we want to upgrade packages later?

Let’s do it! We love spending more time and deepening our relationships with our couples. During our consultation, we will discover which package fits your needs right now. If, further down the line, you decide you want more support, then we are here for you. We can easily upgrade your original package or add on services a la carte for a perfectly supportive ceremony experience.

+ How do we book you for our ceremony?

Love the enthusiasm! Make sure you put a consultation on the calendar so we can get to know you, your vision, and your values. After the consultation, we will send you a proposal where you can place your deposit, sign the contract, and start your journey to marriage. LET THE CONSULTATION BEGIN!

Deep and authentic human connection is our thing, which is why we become trusted friends and allies of yours in the lead up to your big day. Our priority is to “get you” equally and intimately. When we officiate, we create a custom kick-off to your marriage legacy that reflects who you are as individuals, how you love and operate as a unit, and what you are committed to in your adventures to come. Our creative process enables us to capture what makes your bond unique and treasured. We don’t put you in a box or fit you into a script. We put words to your culture as a couple.

We are rabble-rousing tradition-shapers, and we want to know your brand of weird, unique, and creative when it comes to your wedding and ceremony. We welcome, fully support, and CELEBRATE all LGBTQ+ forms of love and relationships. We embrace couples from all cultures, religions, and backgrounds. We are passionate about showing respect to Mother Nature and the native peoples on whose unceded land we are holding ceremonies and gatherings.

SAFETY + INCLUSION

We are not exclusively an adventure wedding and elopement company. While we are passionate about the outdoors, we are primarily a company of planners and officiants that works in unique and meaningful spaces that may or may not take place in an outdoor venue. We are unavailable to officiate weddings or elopements that do not consider the safety and abilities of all guests. We only work with couples who support a safe and inclusive experience for all involved.

We had the absolute pleasure of spending time with Kate from Tapestry Event Co. as she wrote a heartfelt ceremony for us and was our officiant on elopement day. Let me first say, Kate is blessed with a positive, kind, and infectious personality that makes you feel like she has been your friend for years. From our first consult with Kate, we knew she’d be the perfect person to share our special moment with us. She took the time to learn about us and put those intentional moments in the ceremony. Kate agreed to join us on our adventure elopement, where we traveled to Mt. Rainier and hiked up saddle peak for the ceremony. For that we are grateful as the conversations were rich, laughter was shared, and tears flowed.

Kate is amazing. We booked her to be our officiant for our elopement. And she truly is what made the ceremony so special. From our first call with her, we knew she was the right fit for us. She is so nice, funny, and just a happy person to work with. She really puts time, care, and effort into writing your ceremony to feel like you. She works closely with you to make sure you are happy with every part of your ceremony, having no issue if you want to add something or move sections around. Kate was great at communicating through the whole time we worked with her, offering reminders about different aspects of our day so that everything went smoothly. Day of, we had to work around some weather and shift plans a little bit and Kate was so great about it and was a trooper through the chilly rainy conditions. Honestly we could not be happier that we had her there to officiate our day. Highly highly recommend her for any aspect of your day!

From the first interaction we sensed Kate’s warmth and talent for this work and truly enjoyed every step of the process collaborating with her. After our first conversation with Kate, we knew she would be the perfect officiant for our day. She made our ceremony so special, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect. We ended up having just a string of horrible luck in the weeks after getting married with the marriage certificate (always double check for typos in the marriage application!), health insurance, broken bones, etc., but Kate went above and beyond to help us out in any way she could.
