Tapestry Goals: What We Are Calling Forth in 2021

In considering the dramatic change of the structure of Tapestry in 2020, we want to be intentional in thinking about how Tapestry is moving into 2021. As community members, we invite you to learn about our trajectory, focus, and passions.

WE ARE KEEPING INTIMATE WEDDINGS (DIBS!).

Intimate sized events have been our bread and butter since before the pandemic. Last year gave us opportunities to focus and specialize our tools and talents in the space of smaller events. Over half of our 2021 clients are hosting intimate gatherings, some as a result of the pandemic, but the overwhelming majority is by choice. There are unique possibilities that are unlocked with an intimate format that bring more depth and meaning to an event.

WE. ARE. HERE. FOR. IT!

And, we want to show couples that intimate gatherings are more than just a pandemic compromise. Intimate gatherings are quality time with each guest, elevated design and experiences, a more holistic approach and supported attendance, and energy invested in details and interactions that matter to you. So, we are keeping intimate weddings and 2021 is all about illustrating just how soulful those celebrations can be.

Take a look at some of our intimate weddings from 2020 below!

WE ARE GROWING THE TAPESTRY EXPERIENCE.

As you may have noticed, we operate and identify strongly as a team and are making our family available to the wider wedding planning world in 2021. Not only do we have more coordinators on track to become experienced planners by the end of the year, but we also have them joining on client projects because two or three heads and hearts in your corner is better than one. We have two more officiants coming on board and are expanding our ceremony resources and offerings. We are creating a program for our coordination-only clients that gives gentle guidance for the months they spend planning their celebration before they hand us the baton. And, we are democratizing the wedding planning process by creating take-home guides that couples can purchase and use for DIY planning purposes called The Tapestry Touch. We are realistic that we can’t serve every single couple, especially with the pent-up demand created by the pandemic. We want couples who resonate with our values and our approach to be able to plan their wedding the Tapestry way. These DIY tools will become available in 2021 on our storefront, and we can’t wait to show them to you.

WE ARE MAKING A STAND FOR DIVERSIFICATION, EDUCATION, + REPRESENTATION

2020 has been a year of coming into our voice. Frequently we are told by vendors in the industry that they wish they could work with us on every wedding, elopement, or styled shoot. No, this is not a self-brag moment, but more a pause in recognition of the standard we set by the way we approach our work. Tapestry can make a large ripple effect through our partnership with other professionals and the recommendations we make to our clients. We see that we can make a difference. 2021 is the year where we powerfully choose how to use our voice and do so loudly. We are aiming to expand our representation in a manner of ways. One, by lending our platform to BIPOC businesses and couples. Two, by featuring differently-abled bodies and in support of body inclusivity in the wedding industry. Three, through environmental conservation, land ownership, and prudent stewardship lessons being folded into our Tapestry client experience. Four, we are embracing all formats and celebrations of love, including LGBTQIA+ couples, non-married couples, and vow renewals. We want marriage and partnership to be a celebrated choice for everyone. We want the wedding and event industry to provide a home for all cultures, income levels, and identities. The work starts with the vendors who decide to give a damn and align their actions with their words. We are pledging to show up every day, messy, flawed, but the best we can be in that moment, and make this stand.

We thank you all for being a part of this community and contributing to our journey of purpose, self-discovery, and drive. Most important to our 2021 experience, we are supporting our couples to make sure their marriage celebrations are reflective of their values, interests, and passions. We are continuing to guide couples to create lasting foundations of marriage for the rest of their lives. We are 80% booked for 2021 elopements and 100% booked for 2021 weddings. We have three opportunities left to collaborate on styled shoots. Let us know if you are interested in snagging those last spots here.
